WARNING: THE GAME IS A LITTLE JANKY ON MOBILE


Flies have taken over the world and run amuck, killing every living thing in their way, and now they've taken over your home. OH CRUEL FATE, what will you do now? Curl up into a ball and accept defeat or stand up and FIGHT! Use your swatter (cursor/finger) to crush your enemies and wipe their remains off of your walls with your trusty sponge. Although the gross green-covered walls still need to be cleaned afterward RIGHT NOW IT'S A FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE OR HOME OR HUMANITY or something I don't know what you stand for.


Click/Touch the screen to interact/Kill

Click/Press and hold the Sponge to move it around


Play the tutorial to learn and practice the main gameplay loop a little better


Flyghtmare was made for the mobilejam22 and is my first published game and my first game jam. I've been practicing and toying around with Unity for about 2 years now but never finished a game, I would lose to ambition to keep going or burn myself out through constant perfectionism. So getting this done and over is an accomplishment, after all the errors and random bs with Unity and a random dude using the same GarageBand drum loop and copyright striking me, feels good to get this out.

This was pretty fun! I especially loved the SFX and music, along with the mini game to clean up the bug guts. I did run into some pretty significant bugs (not flies, unfortunately) early on, though. Most of my issues came in the 2nd level, and prevented me from continuing with the game. I'd get every fly, but my health would go down for some reason at seemingly random intervals. It might be possible that there are flies spawning off-screen, so I don't even see them before they go to the top of the screen. If it changes anything, I'm on a Pixel 4a on Chrome. Otherwise, I enjoyed what I saw!

Thank you for letting me know! I've marked it down to a mobile-only glitch I call "Ghost Fly". Basically when you kill a fly, sometimes it'll ignore that for some reason and the collider box will be still active and take away your health. I'm looking into the issue and trying to get it fixed as so as possible.

Edit: Should be fixed now, in case flies were attacking offscreen I utilized better minimal WebGL to have the whole screen fit. There may be some slowdown on older mobile phones like mine (iPhone 6s)

This game changed my life forever <3 It may be simple but it is lots of fun!!
