You're the captain of a fishing vessel, tasked with defeating the four monsters inhabiting the ocean. Upgrade your ship, amass resources, and fight against aquatic monsters on your journey to slay the Withered Seadragon haunting your kingdom's waters!


Controls:

WASD: Move

Left Click: Attack/cast fishing rod

Right Click: Block/use inventory item

Space: Dodge in combat, open/close facility menus

M: Equip/sheathe sword

This has promise. I like the simple design and gameplay, however it is lacking some features to warrant an rpg or fantasy tag.
As far as the gameplay, my critique would be the lag in response time to all the actions. Fishing and combat are slow. The inventory seems like the only interface. There's no in game tutorial or map of the actions keys which would help. The enemies have no gage to warn you on their difficulty, just the names.
More details and it'll be a chill lowkey game.

Nice game, nice mechanics. Maybe increase movement speed (outside battle).

ok so I don't want to sound harsh but I have a lot to say but I am giving critique and don't mean to be so knitpicking (? don't know how to write it) so I'm sorry if it goes off that way!
firstly, the concept seems really nice however we're thrown into the game's tutorial without any kind of context and as far as it goes there doesn't seem to be any story or reasoning of all that's happening so it feels plain. if I didn't read the description it'd think it had no plot at all, which seems to be the opposite, so even for a beta it'd be nice to have some context!
the tutorial is great but only help in combat, I had to read to know about the fishing but somehow it doesn't always work? I tried clicking and it seems to respond to specific areas and/or blobs and I have no idea what I did wrong sdjfsdhsjdfsh same goes for other stuff, it's nice that in game it tells you to press space to interact or right click to equip some things, but there are quite a lot of controls that are on description only? that's kinda weird, it'd be nice to have them all in game, like on a pause menu or something
this could be more of a me issue but the fishing guy summoning crystals feels overpowering? the time I spend to defeat an angry crab and return to the ship, he's already handinging me two or three more idk I feel like the proportion is off
also the roll the character only works in combat which makes sense as space is used out of it for other reasons, but I qute liked using it to move as the character is too slow, maybe make a run button? or change the interact button (maybe to e?)
the leveling up is also odd, from 1 you go to 2 and somehow you need the level +1 of what it says it's the minimum required, I'm not sure why but I could only buy armour as level 5 when requirement said it was level 4 (I did try before leveling up) also the only change in leveling up being +2HP feels like nothing really has improved but I can see how it can actually be OP as the creature you fight is stuck on the same level (unless I'm dumb dumb and didn't notice a change) (or maybe that's because there will be more monsters so ofc it'll get balanced in the future)

I thnk that's overall it, some bits are probably in the planning since this is just a beta like more creatures, maybe dialogue between the crew members, sounds etc so there's no reason for me to mention it. this game seems really promissing and I'll surely keep an eye for updates/the finished version!
