I loved it, good controls and good gameplay, and the story is not lacking
Me encantó, buenos controles y buena jugabilidad, y la historia no le falta

Why stairs is breakable?

F1Krazy responds:

I have no idea. They shouldn't be. I'm going to have to investigate and fix that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

EDIT: This has now been fixed.

I probably would have given this a higher score but it is buggy as hell and the instructions are kind of meh.. I understand that this is a game jam entry and I do keep that in mind, so the score is in the context of a jam game. So we start the game with a very long conversation essentially telling us we need to go get the flower, it is so long you really want to skip it. I think rather than skipping it it would have been great to be able to just speed it up.

Within the game moving and jumping is just fine, one use of the fireball was quite obvious use wise (killing enemies) and the pits you need to light become obvious at the one door. However, it also quickly becomes obvious that boundaries don't really exist. In fact I found that the easiest way to get around was to cheat. Jumping over doors and through ceilings just seems to work nicely. However, the same applies to walls that lead nowhere... exploring or suicide, well at least I tried.

Then you get the other powers, with no explanation, just use them to figure out what they do, some in game text would have been nice here. You get the flower, but it shows up as an ability.. did you jest reach your objective, or gain a new power? Not a clue, waste a bunch of time searching for something else that doesn't exist. Well I did get a new power, I better use it. Now after nothing at all happened after using the flower I didn't bother to see if I could still win the game and started over again. I don't think it is obvious that you have to go back to the start of the game to win it.

After all that whining you may think I didn't enjoy the game. On the contrary I actually did have a good deal of fun with the game and I would recommend it to anyone to play through weather you cheat your way through it or do your best not to accidentally cheat. I played through 3 times, first time just exploring through the game, second time cheating as much as I can, third time trying my best to stick to the intended gameplay. Keep up the good work!

F1Krazy responds:

Thanks for leaving such detailed feedback, and especially for making it so constructive, it's greatly appreciated. A lot of the problems you noted (glitchy collision detection, the slowness of the intro text, the lack of explanation for what things do) are things that I anticipated during playtesting, but I ran out of time to do anything about them. I can fix the collision detection, and the rest I can look at after the jam.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it regardless!
