The combat is way too long. It would be more entertaining if you had fewer hit points and so did the enemy. The way it is right now, you can literally mash attack and just soak hits, no need to dodge in some fights. Additionally, needing to click with the mouse to restart is obnoxious. Finally, the jumping controls are very finicky and you have too much air control which can cause over/underjumps. I wouldn't mind the finicky jumps if you didn't have to do the entire boring combat again after falling. If combat is going to be this tedious, there needs to be a checkpoint after combat.
