Another really cool one. I wish I had played all of these in order.
A fascinating atmosphere, tons of puzzles, rewarding exploration, and interesting enigmas to uncover. I love this kind of game where you can just explore around and find cool stuff as you go, without following a specific story path.
There are tons of secrets and enigmas to find, with a combination of information given by NPCs, usage of the candles handed to you at the start, and a bit of reasoning and a bit of reflexes.
The reflexes, in particular, come into play when you need to capture souls, which spawn once you finish solving a puzzle. The souls move around rapidly, and they take damage when they're within your lamp's aura. If they're out of the aura for too long, they will start recovering health, so it becomes this fun and frantic game of platforming quickly around to keep the soul inside your range as much as possible.
The story is fascinating too, very spooky and interesting, with a sinister Lovecraftian vibe to it.
Really cool overall. WIll try to play them in order from here on out.
