The struggle to end Apartheid in South Africa was many things: an underground political movement, an international exercise in public relations, and a conventional armed struggle with tanks and fighter planes. In this game, you play the ANC, and you must bring multi-racial democracy to South Africa. You must also help to end the civil wars raging on South Africa’s borders by getting the South African Defense Force to pull out of these conflicts. You have to do all of this while keeping your activists alive and out of prison. Good luck!

Thanks for playing! It is true to the historic setting and context. The ANC did hold secret talks with the South African Government in the 1980s, and the Cuba did send troops to Angola to fight the South African Defense Force. However, it is a video game, so you do not have to make the same decisions that the ANC leadership made. In that sense, its more like HOI4. Norway is not going to send troops to Namibia in this game. David Bowie is not going to become the prime minister of South Africa. Trying to keep it realistic, while also playable. In other words, you win by getting to the outcomes that we think of as history: you turn South Africa into the multi-ethnic democracy that it is today.
