A tiny game I made to experiment with Godot's Android and HTML5 support.

Controls:

  • LEFT/RIGHT: Steer left/right
  • UP: Speed up

Here are the various power-ups:

  • Apple - collect them
  • Golden Apple - spawns 5 apples
  • Portal - teleports. Only usable once
  • Bolt - increases speed temporarily
  • Poison - lose points
  • Star - become invincible
  • Trap - lose instantly
  • Mushroom - inverts left/right controls

The game is also available for download on itch.io and Android Play Store

Good game, gives me nostalgia for snake on the old flip phones.

I think an indicator for when the control swap on mushroom is active would be helpful. Also some kind of timer on each pickup showing how long you have until they go away so can better plan your route.

MichaelGavrilo responds:

I'm glad you liked it!

I've been trying different methods to indicate when power-ups are active, but I don't want to visually overload the game. I've added music which changes rhythm based on the power-up in use (for example, the speed boost makes the music faster, but it slowly gets back to normal as the boost is about to end)

this is a nice game to kill some time. I really like the power ups, I do wish there was some music or at least sounds effects. All in all I think you did a good job

MichaelGavrilo responds:

Thanks! Both music and very basic SFX have now been added and I'm currently experimenting with a way to use music to make the power-ups more intuitive, though the engine I'm using isn't really offering a lot of audio options from what I can tell.

cool
could use some music and maybe sfx, but it's good. make sure they're mixed properly. overly loud sfx can be a killer

MichaelGavrilo responds:

Thanks! I am currently looking over various SFX sets made available for public use and I'm sure to add sound to the game.
