Some background on this game...
I've been seeing YouTube videos highlighting rhyme schemes (example here) of various songs, drawing attention to rappers' usage of multisyllable and internal rhyme structures. This got me wondering if it would be possible to base a rhythm game off of the concept, so I spent a few days writing an engine for it and came up with this.
The original concept was for the player to hit every syllable rapped, which is reflected in Hard mode. Easy mode only has the player tapping syllables that are integral to the rhyme structure.
Unfortunately both modes are way harder than I anticipated and it's basically impossible to focus on anything other than the red letters. I wanted to release a full version with Chrysalis, Onward, and On Belay (plus actual graphics and more precise timing) but after playing this proof of concept I honestly doubt it would be worth the effort (plus Ruffle shits the bed when trying to run it.)
If you're wondering, the song I made (Nodes) is about trying to be productive when billions of dollars have been spent toward making you spend all of your time on social media instead.
