I made this short in 2019 and it was my first attempt at sewing and working with a stop motion doll.

Because I had never sewn anything in my life before, Rocket ended up with one poorly sewn leg and no arms. I ended up infusing some of my personal experiences with internalized ableism by centering the whole story around the fact that she doesn't like aspects of herself that make her who she is.

it was very therapeutic for me lol

I hope everyone can find some relief from my work too <3

DO I DARE SEE A HINT OF INSPIRATION IN THE PRINCESS' DESIGN FROM THE GEKIDAN INU CURRY SHORT FILM "UNIVERSE"???? aGh I love it
in fact, I asked in a comment on one of your newer things if you knew of Gekidan Inu Curry, but right here you say outright that they're one of your biggest inspirations!!
and good god do I relate, I hope to be able to make illustrations similar to theirs someday myself, and lord can I say you've *definitely* got the overall feel of their style down
you're seriously impressive!

it's also a seemingly small detail, but the way the shock was portrayed with glass cracking and an egg breaking worked just sO well, and the bratty princess shtick was well-portrayed as well!
because she seemed so nice at first but then she just took a total 180, which is strangely... believable??
like, there are people out there that make it their life goal to "help" people but also turn out to be so nasty you don't even believe them about it anymore

I really liked this a lot!! and now I believe you may take my follow, my friend pfft!

this is cute. were you inspired by gekidan inu curry?

Toastcrumch responds:

yup! They’re one of my biggest inspirations :D

It seems like your movies have hidden stories through the imagery that can be pieced together.

I don't get it.
But take 5 stars for great style

ok this is epic

how you did the princes voice?

Toastcrumch responds:

I did the princes' voice with a Miku pocket synthesizer :D
