This was an old concept which I fleshed out a bit more. The hand drawn bits took much longer than it should. This was mainly for me to experiment with random generation so ore spawning may be a little bit buggy (You might see an ore on a tree or on top of someone). There's also a bug where you might occasionally be back at the starting area after exiting a shop.

My friend Benjamin Wang composed the music for this one again, please check out his channel if you enjoyed the music.

It's cool.

I wish the items that i found could be used for something. Otherwise i dont really feel the need to collect them all.

I liked the dead baby.

I didn't liked drowning and artifacts escaping by falling trough the map.

Not sure what you have going on here. I get the error "Your browser does not support any of the required graphics API for this content." Using the latest version of chrome and webgl is working just fine elsewhere.

Edit... Grr didn't save my previous edit.

The console error literally says "Warning: Unsupported graphics API WebGL 2.0", my chrome://gpu says WebGL 2 is working perfectly. Tried turning on draft extensions, forcing rasterization, overriding software rendering... Turning on Vulkan (which shouldn't have done anything and didn't take apparently anyhow).. All to no avail. It is just bizarre considering it doesn't sound like your game is trying to do anything (graphics rendering wise) that is new and only partly supported.. My loss. I am so damn curious right now.

nulledwine responds:

Yeah, I'm using the linear colorspace which is only supported by WebGL 2.0, so I'm not too sure what the problem is.

A couple times the character couldn't move after I clicked through a dialog scene too quickly. I'd prefer if the character walked more quickly, maybe twice the current speed?

nulledwine responds:

Sorry about that, I'll change the dialogue.
As for the dialogue bug I'm currently finding a way to fix it

Edit: Changed dialogue

I think you're on to something here, but it needs some polish. Walk speed is slow, and the camera is not always your friend. Then, after I fell off the north end of the island, I spent 15 minutes trying to get back on it, ran into Kazi, talked to them twice and got stuck there, game wouldn't respond to anything anymore. Sad to say the game doesn't invite me to try again.

But that's in its current form. With some tweaking of the camera and the controls, some bugfixing and maybe a map, I think this could be a very enjoyable experience. And yeah, the music helps a bunch too. Keep at it!

Wow, front page material.
