"November 21st, 2020. The SNES turns 30 years old: it's time to celebrate!

Sadly, there is only one SNES cartridge left on Earth..."

The Last Super is brand new Super Nintendo (SNES) game created to celebrate the 30th birthday of the console!

As the last SNES cartridge on Earth, you'll have to move and jump around in each of the 20 levels of the game so every SNES can play you! But don't let a SNES without cartridge for too long...

The Last Super is an actual game for the Super Nintendo / SNES / Super Famicom console. You can enjoy it here on Newgrounds through an HMTL5 based SNES emulator (RetroArch). If you want to play it on a real console, you can buy a beautiful game cartridge from Catskull Games. As an extra bonus, this cartridge also contains my previous SNES game Keeping SNES Alive!

The game was programmed in C using the wonderful PVSNESlib by Alekmaul.

The music was composed by XRACECAR. The two tracks are:

A fun fact about the audio: the "shlack" sound that you hear when the cartridge enters a console is an actual recording of the noise made by my SNES power button (recorded directly from my childhood console, still alive and kicking after 30 years!)

Last but not the least, the full source code is included. I spent a lot of time cleaning up and commenting the code as thoroughly as I could, hoping it'll help and motivate you to start making new SNES games too!

Hi! What is your issue to complete level 2? I don't know if you have noticed, but the more you hold down the the jump button, the higher you get :).

Audio glitches out and crackles the more you play it.

Hey, Dr. Ludos! You might remember me from Itch.io. I'm glad to see that you are also putting out content on Newgrounds!
