It's ok but it could use a little work. Noise would be epic too. I noticed the mario world textures as well. Nice easter egg

Had an SWF from university days, decided to play it but instead of downloading the player, figured I can upload it here. =D
Not bad.
The controls are fairly simple to use, the only real problem I see is the lack of sound.

If you view it as a project for a university, it's okay.
But as a game? This ain't it, chief.
The health system is counter-intuitive. Every time you get hit, you start at the beginning of the level. Once you lose all your hearts, you start at the beginning of the damn game. This wouldn't be so bad if once you lost all your hearts at the third level, there wasn't numerous framerate drops that make the game borderline unplayable.
All in all, framerate issues held this game back from being great in my eyes. In addition, it would also be wise for the creator to consider more difficulty options, because death can great rather frustrating after a while.

Totally agree! It was frustrating for me too - both health system and framerate issues. I'm wondering, what are framerate issues related to as I don't remember if they were there when I made the game in 2013.
BTW, I couldn't finish the game myself because of these issues, had to open the project to see how many levels are there. =D
