Poub Hell is a « frame by frame » anarchist cartoon I made in 2015. It took about a month to complete all the animation, working like an idiot day and night to draw everything frame after frame.

Of course there’s tricks and loops everywhere but I wanted to avoid modern techniques like vector animation with this one. I also wanted it to be a solo effort for some reason … using the most simple techniques to create a big scale adventure.

I know the anarcho-ecolo message in this one might seem pretty « simple » for some viewers … well that’s just what it is.

When I decided to create the movie I had just heard the same old alarming news that one can constantly get about nature and it's destruction on the radio, these depressing news were immediately followed with supposedly « comforting » ones about the great performances of major companies and it just made me sick … it's no big news and plenty of us feel the same, I had to spit it out loud with this kind of stuff just to feel a bit better, even if it doesn't change anything.

So yeah, it’s no deep political manifesto, just a movie full of anger.

It was later sent to a bunch of film festival and never had quite the impact I hoped it would, no big deal, but as a consequence the movie "died" and was left in a dark corner of youtube for years.

Since it's a personnal and slightly "punk" and "experimental" work, I thought it might be appropriate to share it here, with a community enjoying less "mainstream" stuff than what's available on youtube.
