This movie is the introduction to a work done for the game Dark Ages. The work is found at: http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/Ceannlaidir

Find Dark Ages at: http://www.darkages.com

I only copied images from that game. So I didn't exaclty make the graphics up. I can only do so much with the 2D images they provide. If you have never played Dark Ages, the story might make little sense, but please be critical of the way it is presented then.
Hope you enjoy it.

Cool!

This was pretty cool! I used to play dark ages, I had a Lv97 warrior
named Ecel, I was wondering if it rings a bell. any ways awesome job! brings back memories.

Nicely done!

I like the music with the images and how they are presented. The part with Marlin was especially nicely done!

meh

ok i guess... what did all the taverns and the loures library and shit have to do with it though? and whats your DA name??

Ummmmmm

Your a Faggot

Nice way of representing DarkAges

Okay, I might be biased in some of the comments as I've played to DarkAges for 2 years and I know the moviemaker. For someone who never played the game, the movie might not really be of interest. But maybe it could draw some interest into the game for an outsider as well. For a long time player as myself, who knows quite much about the game, the movie is like a revelation. One has to understand that the common DarkAges player logs in to kill goblins all day, but there is quite an extensive "Library" of works done by many players, on topics such as History of the land and Religions ruling the land. This is a real RPG so the players basically constructed the story at the very beginning of it. The video on the History of Pravat expresses this aspect of the game that has been present since the beginning, is now part of the everyday life of players, but often the depth of the History is forgotten.
Now concerning the technicalities... The graphics are screenshots of the game. The graphic aspect of that game isn't the best ever. So don't blame the moviemaker. I liked the fact that some of the screenshots were worked on to be animated, some NPC's were removed of the images, and the fading of images is neatly done with the music. And what choice for the music! I've always loved Carmina Burana. The moving and fading fonts were fun to see too.
I know nothing of animation but I know this style is simple compared to many other works I have seen. The quality and importance of the movie is for me a question of dedication in a RPG game that really needs active players to be more than a "monster slaying game". My appreciation is thus very sentimental. Good work Feena and Etayn!
