Flappy Ducky was made for the OneLevelGameJam on the weekend of 2020.02.02.

Your goal is to find all breads located on the map.

You can flap equal to the number of feather you have. Bring your lady duck flowers to gain more feathers.

Don't forget to post your time, let's see who can be the flappiest ducky!

Controls:

Arrow keys - Move

X - Flap your wings

C - Glide in the air

You have to return all the flowers to the female ducky and collect all breads to finish the game!

pretty nice game with some good controls and good graphics, and the controls are pretty good, only thing i don't understand is why do you have to give flowers to get more feathers that help you fly? is there a story for it? either way pretty good game and keep it up

small neat little game.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

great game my only complaint is that the flying feels kinda stiff

Thank you for your feedback. It's is indeed slow a bit, but i choose this by design. Maybe a change later, but not really sure.

I love what you've done here. Like what MysteryMadman69 had said, you've taken flappy bird's flight mechanic and turned it into a very unique game. It was very enjoyable and I'm impressed. And especially that this was made for a game jam.

Here are some things that might help you that I've noticed
- Music would be a nice addition
- The game feels a little too static. Adding small details to your environment could completely up your game. Add swaying animations for grass and trees, and maybe even make the grass squash when you land on them. These small changes will help your game feel more alive
- The background is currently a solid color. Environment again could look more alive with a more detailed background. Maybe even change the background as you progress.
- Beginning was a little confusing without reading the description. A small tutorial could help.

I know that this is a game jam with limited time, but just some small things that could help you. Hope my feedback helps. Overall amazing game!

I totally wanted to do that, but simply put i ran out of time, and since than the game did not grab enough attention to put more effort into it.

That is totally my fault, i think i even have the sprites for it in the cart, i just forgot it.

I'm just starting to try designing games that teach themself. In Switch Jump i tried to create a first map, with helps you understand the two main mechanics, and slowly introduce to every other feature slowly and mixing them up. In this game, this just lack, and it is totally my fault.
Thank you for your detailed feedback here as well!

I usually hate flappy bird and it's many clones, but I really like what you've done here, simply taking the flight mechanic and applying it in a completely different way. It was enjoyable to hunt down items and unlock better flight skill, which allows us to reach new parts of the world. I also liked the marshy look of the environment, as well the old ruins rising from it. It's nice to see someone do something interesting with an old idea instead of just remaking the same game. Unlike others, I had no problem with the pacing. Good job on a quickie program.

Achie72 responds:

Thank you so much!
