I'm keen on playing this but I'm stumped on the final encounter. No matter how many times I try, my health always gets wiped by time I get back to the samurai, Am I missing something, I know the msg said I may want to put the vest back on but I can't. Maybe adding a tutorial of buttons would help as well, I accidentally stumbled upon the inventory menu. Overall great game!

You should be able to put the vest back on in the equipment menu. Although if you're able to get to the samurai you should be fine in that regard. That fight is just a matter of remembering each enemy's weakness.
I'll put a button list in the game description from now on.

Is there actually a way to beat Rone without using Lightning? And I would like a hint to the alternate good ending if possible. I'm kinda stumped.

Get to the end on hard mode, and enter the otherwise absent door. On the final question, seek the truth, and you'll have a new way to defend yourself. : )
A solid game with a fair share of thinking needed here. Especially the fight with the princess needed some good preparation beforehand. I beat the game the usual deceitful way but really cant find a way to beat the samurai without exploiting the weakness somehow.
EDIT: I finally got the good ending once, but i dont seem to be able to replicate getting there. Is it really just about asking about truth at the end after going through the hard mode door or is it still possible to mess up?

It's not often I genuinely enjoy an RPG-Maker game, but you clearly recognized the strengths and limitations of the engine and created something interesting, unique, and entertaining. The ending's a little glitchy (notably, if you end up at 0 HP but still choose the easy way out, you'll get the ending cutscene and then a Game Over as if you died), but otherwise, really nice work.
