I can tell that you put alot work into this cartoon. I enjoyed it!!
My first upload to Newgrounds. This was made as a project for my animation class at university back in 2019.
A pretty basic "killer in the desert" plotline, using anthropomorphised animals as the main characters and invoking a 1970s setting. A coyote named Johnny is stranded in the desert after his Cadillac breaks down. Upon hours of waiting a ride, he gets in the pickup of a slovenly weasel named Horace. Johnny makes himself too comfortable in a passenger seat, which soon turns out to me a big mistake...
Since this was made on a deadline, alot of the animation is rough around the edges and the art style is a bit bland. There's alot of stuff in this I'd try to do differently today, since I'm still learning stuff on a regular basis. Regardless, I welcome any honesty and criticism.
UPDATE (17/03/19): A small change was made to the audio, for when Horace falls off the cliff. Also, I greatly appreciate the feedback from you all, as well as NG for frontpaging this! Cheers guys!

He should've checked the license plate. And maybe not take a ride with a wacko that doesn't speak.
It's a good animation. Horace's fall at the end seemed a little weird: he took like three very long steps backwards before falling. Good job on the backgrounds.
Glad you noticed the license plate, lmao. Yeah, I feel I could have animated that back walk a little smoother as well. Cheers though!
oh it ended just when it was getting interesting!
Yep, I had to keep the runtime at 3 minutes aprox sadly!
Very good animation. Had good backgrounds, decent characters and a nice story. I feel it could have been improved slightly from a bit better pacing as it seems to ramp up in intensity pretty quickly after the first 2 mins being simple backgrounds with very little going on. Maybe extending the little bit of action at the end or more of a slow burn into murder attempt. All that being said, I also realize that this may have all been to meet a deadline for a class project so you still did very well. Good job with this animation.
Yep, I agree that the pacing takes a rather jarring turn towards the end. I forget to mention, but the assignment required that I keep the short about 3 minutes aprox (not counting credits), so at times it was a bit awkward to keep everything within a certain runtime. That aside, thanks for the kind words!
Damn shit felt like a movie, nice job fam 👍🏾
That was sort of the intent. Helps to know if I succeeded, cheers!
