I think you overdid it with the ending. If it had ended with the joke about someone else's kids, it would've been perfect, in my opinion. Having said that, I kept thinking the last guy was going to pull a gun or something, so nice subversion of expectations.

I lowkey wish you could do that with probation though, if it's to help a child's future then it should definitely be a thing obviously with rules set in place for safety and for other laws it might interact with but other than that I wish that could actually happen
