{Rough Machinima Test #1] HUMANS SUCK!

This a very rough test of machinima style animation with some unedited improv I did [I'm aware that Machinima is a company, but it's also a genre of animation utilizing a game engine for animation]. I did this animation in real time using the unity engine in hope of improving my own puppetry style[.....Yeah, it didn't turn out that great...] I used a game controller to control the animations.

Suffice to say I've learned a few things:

  1. When you're only one person it's hard to focus on doing 4 different actions of the character at once in real time [in this case the actions were: Facial Expression, Body language as well as head turning and movement.
  2. Unity is one hard mofo to learn. Took like 7 damn hours straight to figure out why the animations weren't working.
  3. I still have no idea why the legs weren't moving on this character. YAY.
  4. Ironically the day I started attempting Machinima style animation, I learned that the Machinima company died. RIP to my favorite mario 64 Machinimas they did.


I'm unsure if I should continue as it does look a lot more terrible that I thought, however I might try to improve on it and see if it's worth it. It may not look that great, but I find myself really interested in doing real time animation.
