Got stuck on a screen with alot of moving text and can't do anything

Find your family in an apocalyptic world. Shooter game.
This is my second game, using Javascript. Please tell me what I can do to improve.
asdw to move the character.
mouse to aim and shoot.
Snailman spitting ammo while holding a gun: the game. Good luck with next projects though!

First, indeed unskippable text
which loads super slow compared to average reading speed (you could possibly google this)
and then I can also select the text like shift+arrow in Word. Maybe add a layer above the text itself
and then I waited a bit, now I'm seeing all the text flash in the top left of the screen, having the background stop about 2/3 of the left side of the screen, then 1/3 is just black.
Also I do see the 'hero' 's face in the top left, behind the flashing text. In front of the text is a purple square about 1cm by 1cm on my screen.
