Hello everyone, Tom here. This short film was inspired by the poem "Pale Blue Dot" from Carl Sagan. It was made in a period where I had been working on politics, and the social ambient was pretty toxic and hopeless. I saw first handed stuff that led me to feel hopeless about humanity, like how the political and economic kind are so intertwined, full of rage and greed.

I felt that humanity was in a path of destruction, with no hopes or dreams more than survive, buy and obey. I felt that humanity was pathless, pointing to nowhere collectively more than to self destruction.

I started the idea of this film on late 2016, after I dropped of the university, but the lack of knowledge pushed me to learn new softwares and skills. after that I started to show to some university friends what I was making and they decided to help me. It took much more time than I thought, learn to direct animators and audio artists. But this is our first short film and I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for watching it,

Tom from Soul Ink.

Excellent message , we are indeed on the edge of a cliff as a species and we are going to drag most of life on earth down with us is we perish . But there is hope . We can change our path , the people can wrestle the power away from authoritarians and fools and we can work towards being the guardians of this life filled "spec of dust" and not it's masters . Would have been nice if you showed that .
The animation is fluid and the art is decent overall . Good teamwork.

wow that was really well done
awesome way of seing perspectives

SoulInkAnimated responds:

Thanks! yeah, the perspective (or scales) part was really important. “A mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”

Thank you for the good vibes !
