Whew! That was a ride. Amazing game, but could use some tweaking. So, first off, that pixel art is beyond gorgeous. Really. Props for that. However, the gameplay itself felt a little repetitive and the ending is, well, nonexistent. It would've been nice to have a little cutscene or anything that's not suddenly cutting to the credits.
Up until the boss fight the stages feel a little too long and there's not a lot of enemies to spice things up. Maybe adding a couple powerups or simply making them a little shorter would make things less monotonous.
Now that boss, THAT was a completely different beast. The way it turns something as simple as "aim, shoot and shoot more" into an adrenaline-fuelled fight for your life just feels awesome. You two have a future in this.
Hey, Monipodio! Thanks for your review!
We want exactly to takle monotony with little. To some extent, I think we are on the right track with the boss, and it would be interesting to achieve that with the lesser minions too.
We'll keep on experimenting!
It looks beautiful, it really does. However, the levels are really dull. The gameplay is almost non-existent. Then...you get to the boss when it suddenly gets really interesting.
But it also gets really hard, and I can't figure it out. I got to the point where he's shooting green things at me? Sometimes enemies appear, sometimes they don't, and I don't know why. It feels like unless you choose the right upgrades the game is impossible.
Gamers have got lazy, they expect to be able to grind their way to the end, so some levelling up system would be good.
Regarding the monster spawning during the boss battle, it might be a bug. I'll work on that. Thank you for pointing that out!
Grinding the way up seems like a valid alternative to have. It is a nice idea!
Thanks, JeffreyDriver!
