This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch Cloud Watching on YouTube!

This one is special for a couple of reasons! This is further establishing a continuity in the C&H universe, because these characters have been seen before. In the first short that Mike Salcedo wrote that became an animation for the show.

Years later, here he is tying off their fate with Cloud Watching.
I was probably the most involved with the production pipeline of this short than I ever have in the past. I had been known to sneak in frame-by-frame effects into animatics for Season Too and Season 3 of the Cyanide & Happiness Show. They looked well enough, they had me finalize certain energy plumes and lightning and stuff, so on this one, I just frame-by-framed the nuclear devastation because I love that shit, lmfao.
They gave me a few extra days, I knocked this out very quickly since the scene is so brief to complete the nuclear devastation. Then when it came time for backgrounds, I drew the finalized cloud shots of the Elephant and Giraffe cloud, so I even got some background art in on the final animation!
I need to make a 2D effects reel someday soon.

if you see that cloud run in real life
LOL
Goddamn, that was good. I was not expecting that in the slightest. The sudden burst of color before I could even realize what was going on, oh man. I liked the voice acting, pretty stereotypical couple cutesy quirky whatever talk. Jeez, I should go to bed. I liked the clouds as well, they look pretty badass. Really like the subtle surprise on the dude's face when he sees the mushroom, and, again, the explosion looks awesome.
No matter what the final version looks like, you did sick work on this, dude, really captured the spirit.
Nicely done, but predictable
