When you randomly wake up at the wrong time..

I based this off of an actual event from my life.

It was spring, my mom and sis left to another state. It was just me, my dad and my cat.

My room was in the basement.

So One night, I was watching some Justice League on my tv. I had the door closed.

I went to sleep with the TV on then next thing I know, i wake up, TV is off and door is open. And it was a creepy experience for me. At the time.. of course.

(My dad probably turned it off and left my door open. He's serious about
the electric bill.)

I tried animating in Photoshop for this one and I think it turned out okay!

I wanted to dabble in pixel animation, so I guess this is a start.

It's a little rough but there's definitely potential.

Your story reminds me of one of my own, too. We had tile floors in my home growing up, and if you stepped on them at certain spots they'd make somewhere between a crunch and a creak of a sound. I wake up and hear one... then another... and more and more and more until I can't write it off or rationalize it anymore. Each one is incremental, 3-5 seconds after the last, as if someone or something was slowly plodding towards me. Crack. Crack. Crack. My hearts pounding, I'm convinced I'm about the be the next urban horror story victim, when I decide to just suck it up and check. I figured if I was screwed I might as well get it over with. I climb out of bed and... nothing. I peer around the halls, in the rooms, behind the furniture and curtains, nothing. I tell my parents, convinced there's a home intruder and...

My dad tells me he was messing with the AC unit for a couple minutes and wound up shifting his weight from one foot to the other while he did it. My face when.

But yeah, cool animation, hope to see more sometime soon.

Thanks for your comment...but..
Damn!
Really now? Well, I sure do love the feeling of relief over something like that.

Also, side note, It is creepy to have thought "I'm about the be the next urban horror story victim"

If that means what I think it means, then I'm disturbed by the concept of myself or someone becoming an urban legend, something about people telling the same story, passed down through generations; and knowing you were the victim in that story is chilling...

I love the animation style

Animation really needs some work. I know you want to dabble in pixel animation, so I'm not saying go 3D, but the color palette uses only solid colors(no similar colors to simulate depth perception) and the proportions of the entities(Person, door, bed) were off. There were sound effects but they were very limited as far as quality. As for plot you did include it in your comment, but it differs from what was actually shown. Consistency for the plot helps keep a clear image for the viewers. It was overall meh, needs some work, but okay.
