I think you've gotten the message the wrong way around from the professor. What I see is that the imagery is primary and the music seems a bit of an afterthought (especially Goodnight, which seems completely out of place). Caveat: I'm not in any way authoritative in the arts department, so take it for what it is.
As for the video past what you were to make: I enjoyed the video somewhat. You could've faded out Goodnight earlier (moment blue fell back into the fight), but I think it's passable enough.
