my 2nd year film at SVA, under the supervision of albert pardo. this was done primarily in ASEprite, a pixel art creation program that makes animating pixel art like this very simple and easy to work with (technically- this entire film is a gif!), and aftereffects, with which i used to comp out the film and apply sounds.

this was a sort of theory-in-practice of a pixel art animated film. i had wanted to make it less rough over the summer (and i still might at some point), but never quite got around to it. regardless i'm still happy with how it came out, and i've since pushed the scope and my ability to make a pixel art film further in other projects. this is a medium i'm excited to return to in the future when it comes to animation.

this film also was shown at the first annual SVA undergraduate film festival, where it was submitted in al pardo's memory. he always pushed me to do my best work so i could fully execute my vision, and was very supportive of my film when it was shown to him. at the time i wasn't confident enough to share it anywhere, but here it is now for everyone's viewing pleasure.
