The Shape of Space

This animation was created for SavanniJam 2019, a 24-hour animation jam held at Savannah College of Art and Design.

This was my very first experience producing an animated short collaboratively and under an immense timeframe. I directed and co-wrote the short and the shots were distributed between a group of 5. We had no animatic, recorded our audio in an empty classroom on an iPhone, and had little experience in Animate.

Despite this, we all really enjoyed making this project! I learned a lot from making it and hopefully you'll all enjoy and excuse the various technical errors. Grazie.

So this was entertaining the characters are well drawn and well voiced some subtitles might work well with this one, I like your style here some really great scenes in this one and it was a nice visual submission here the ending was different but made it funny.

maybe all this needs is some subtitles.

Despite the limitations on audio and animation this was pretty good! The dialog's the strong point, but the animation goes along with it well, expressive and varied. Only thing to really improve would be the lipsync I think - the motion doesn't really match the speech, for the most part. But that ending! XD Hope you make more like this... well I mean like: totally different but: equally spontaneous and refreshingly harmlessly fun. The clipped sound doesn't clip either. Feels polished despite the basic style.

Dayonder responds:

Due to our limited timeframe, we decided to forget lip syncing and just go anime on it. The hardest choices require the strongest wills.

Finally the truth comes out!

I got a good laugh out of this one

The style got simpler at points but it didn't bother me too much. I still liked the concept very much and the ending really surprised me. So random and yet unexpected. There were also some nice animation bits, like the mouth movements and the rocket flying. The government conspiracy was great as well. The argument between the two guys was pretty funny as well and the makeshift rocket was great. The voice acting was pretty on point, the only part of it I would change was the TV guy. He was too exaggerated with the accent and a bit mumbly.
Overall impressive for something made in a very short time. If you had a larger timeframe, I'm sure you oculd have done a lot more.
