ESC is a top down puzzle game with a spooky retro aesthetic with three main game modes:

Escape: Use your wits to solve the labyrinth and reach the way out before your rival.

Survive: Your partner has been possessed by an unknown entity and turned into a monster that's chasing you. Will you be able to survive?

Cooperate: You're in this together! Find the keys to open the path for your partner and escape this place as a team.

Two more sub-modes are available:

Mirrored Escape: This time, you and your rival will play the same mirrored map.

Survive Alone: No friends, no problem! You can play this mode alone, against the AI.

ESC uses procedural generation to create new experiences each time you play. You'll never see the same map twice!

Learn how to play:

Controls:

Player 1: WASD (W up, A left, S down, D right), space bar to use powerup.
Player 2: Arrow keys. Shift to use powerup.
Special Powerups in Survive Mode:

Each minute, a Special Powerup will appear in the labyrinth. Search them and take an advantage over your opponent!

Pink & Green Circle Powerup [Cross-Walker] : Can only be obtained by Intruder. When used, this powerup gives the Intruder the ability to cross walls.

Blue & Pink Circle Powerup [Turbo Boost]: Run! Both can obtain this great powerup! When used, it gives a 50% velocity boost to its player.

Green & Red Square Powerup [Freezer]: Can only be obtained by Shadow. When used, it briefly freezes the time.

Pro-tip! Keep in mind: You can only have 1 powerup at a time. If you take a second powerup without using the previous power, you'll lose it.

lots of polish but it is a game about a maze, and they din't really aren't rewarding puzzles, despite your lots of polish in good viduals, fucking banging toons and different modes the game is eh

perfecto (:

This game itself is okay, but it does have a couple flaws. As others have said, the map is very big, and there are many dead ends that lead to nowhere. The map should have more connections between the lines so that there aren't many dead ends, and the map should be reduced.

There is one thing I wanted to mention mainly, however: the game audio is incredibly loud. This may be on my part, but even at 5% the game audio was loud. I ended up just muting it. This is a personal preference with an easy resolution however, so you can ignore it if you want.

Overall, the game is okay, and it can be worked on. Good luck! :)

I agree with Locknmega, the maps are too big. The first time I played, I saw the shadow guy once, in the corner of the screen, but never actually ran into him. The second time I played, I sat in the same spot and never saw the shadow guy person. The third time, the shadow guy saw me at the beginning of the map, we were in different hallways tho, and instead of traveling the map to get to me he just kept bumping into the wall for three minuets.
A map that size just isn't feasible unless you have multiple shadow guys, or the AI actually travels the map to get to you.
I also tried multiplayer, and the screen just seems too wide with dual screens. so maybe open up an online vs mode?
The maps and sprites look great though, so you have a real gem here, just needs a ton of tlc :)

TL:DR? map too big, need more AI

i played this on the alone mode. the map was to big and i only ran into the rival once. its to easy to win. maybe make the map smaller or make the ai faster. apart from that i like the horror retro aesthetic and i think with a little tweaking this could be a gr8 game.
