Usually I don't leave serious reviews, but I think you deserve one. This game was pretty amazing. The voice acting was corny in all the right ways (a hard thing to pull off). Like you mentioned in the description, it really did give me Putt-Putt vibes. I know you are still working on the game, but in the final product maybe add some sort of inventory screen.
Seriously though, this was one of few good games on this site. Gold star approved.

Part of a 3 day game jam at work. I did all of the art & voices. I wanted to recreate the feeling playing Pajama Sam or Putt-putt. Lots of stuff missing & layering issues, but overall, not bad! More updates to come? I would love to get the inventory system visible as well as more animation.
Once you give 'some dude' the diamond, the 'game' is essentially over.

Wow, really impressive for a 3 day game jam. But, as you mentioned, there are issues.
This does feel like the games made by Humongous Entertainment. the Demo works but if you want to chatch the core generation of these games i would advice you to go all out on this and develop it way way more. and then go to marked with it. I know it will sell if only for the nostalgia factor.
Maybe you could even look if (Tommo Inc) Humongous Entertainment would be interested to actual help you.
