Wonderfully bizarre in a visual sense, but at a level that doesn't interfere with the grimly realistic story. the lack of music and understated acting really provides a down to earth atmosphere, despite the exceptionally bizarre character designs. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this, especially with its hand-drawn animation and relatively minimalistic presentation.
It wasn't exceptionally funny or emotional, but that's okay because I don't think going down either of those routes would make it as especially unique as it is. I hope to make something with almost the same atmosphere and tone someday.
