Author Comments

ISHI is a bite-size existential pet simulator. Given its meditative constitution, if you’ve been struggling with intrusive thoughts or anything depressive recently, I don’t recommend playing it.

My intention was to offer some relief for these kinds of feelings and thoughts through the interaction of a “pet” (I guess pretty much everyone will have to deal with them sooner or later), but my writing may not be the best for many people. So be warned.

If you do play ISHI, I hope you can enjoy it with tranquility. Peace.

Note: There is a spirit ending! You have to find out where to click! :D Also, there are two kinda secret endings if you play around with balancing the constitution.

It was
calming
I like it

maruki responds:

Thank you, I'm happy to know that

Interesting! I wasn't paying attention to the player statistics, but following my curiosity led me to the mind ending, which feels appropriate. The rock is very sweet. I enjoyed the art and music, and the text read like a nice line of thought that fit well with the mood of the game. Thank you!

maruki responds:

Thank you for playing it and leaving this lovely review <3

So, I didn't read the author's comments before playing, and I was really pleasantly surprised with the strangely profound nature of this little game. I feel better for having played it.

maruki responds:

whoa, thanks a lot for the kind words. I'm happy it made you feel better.

Interesting...

I don't know why but I started tearing up. All because of a rock lol. I love that little rock I felt like... it accepted me and that brings me comfort.
