Hey they speak like Banjo Kazooie characters!
Great animation and cute as always, dude. :)
This is the cutest thing I've ever seen! Good stuff!
Ohmygosh that is so fuckin' adorable! I can't even...
I especially like the way their dialogue is voiced out. Hearin' "wah-wah" and "kee-keew" like I'm watching classic Peanuts with snoopy feels just like someone dropping a 50-ton ball of clouds and strawberry flavored cotton candy on me. I just want to hug ink. I can't.
I love the way they're drawn and the art style is really distinct and reminds me of old newspaper comics. Also the music is crazy adorable.
What sadden's me though was as soon as I googled this and found the kickstarter page for the book, it had a link to where I could read their comics for free but the link is dead. And that just broke my heart a little because I really wanted more of Ink & Pen. :(
Edit: HOLY CRAP THAT'S RIGHT! I forgot Animal Crossing Characters talk this way too! And thank you very much for the new comic link!
So nice of you to say such kind things, friend!
Pen & Ink's language (named "Bristolian") was actually influenced by games like Animal Crossing and Banjo Kazooie, where the characters had their own language they spoke. It was designed this way so they could have vocal speech for animations but not have to constantly depend on their voice actress who plays both roles as she's in law school, as well as easily make their dialogue translate in any language. It just so happened that their language coincidentally compares to PEANUTS.
Which is actually the next point! Prior to Pen & Ink, I was a syndicated newspaper cartoonist working on my own comic series, and Pen & Ink are designed to be "decedents of newspaper comic strips", taking from my experiences in newsprint and taking inspirations from Jim Davis (Garfield) and Pat Brady/Don Wimmer (Rose is Rose), all who happen to support Pen & Ink as well! So that's why their whole aesthetic is resemblance of newspaper comic strips!

The facebook page and official website are currently being reconstructed for a Jan. 2019 release. :)
Thanks for being a Pen Pal!
