He Was Eaten By Owls is an avant-garde Chamber-Jazz ensemble hailing from London, UK. Their sophomore album 'Inchoate With The Light Go I' is a sonic journey through post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I was honoured to contribute an animated music video to the track 'In The Grey Of One’s Matter pt. II', evocatively illustrating the effects of PTSD such as structural brain abnormalities, increased heart rate, insomnia, intense distress, persistent distorted blame, involuntary memories as well as intrusive flashbacks.
The part with the looping bird animation in the light bulb really stroke a chord inside me... Like that feeling of trying to free myself from artificiality, but I get hit by the already strong obsession that Post-Modernity created in me. I don't know if I hit it endlessly... Out of it, I just thought it would need less looping animations at the beginning-middle of the video. Keep being inspiring.
