Whatever I'm running from doesn't seem to follow me, I looked a fe times to be sure if I was fast enough. And the controls are too confusing the way they are.
This was first created in 2012 for a three-week assignment during the course "Introduction to Game Programming" at the University of Amsterdam.
I have been meaning to improve it ever since. There are plenty of things to improve here. Gameplay elements are unclear, the graphics/interface need more work, the creeping darkness is too sudden and unexpected, the game needs sound and it would be an understatement to say that the code is not pretty. I'm pretty sure there's bugs in there, too.
I still haven't found the time, and I don't think I will anytime soon. I've fixed a number of bugs and added a minimal amount of polish.

Pretty good, control scheme is a bit clunky. The wasd rotates with the player, which is unintuitive from top-down. Also the bit where you need to run is weird because the thing you're running from doesn't seem to follow you until you get close, whereas the cutscene that triggers the "run" sequence seems to activate from farther away.
