Super Mario Bros. Balloon Trip

Author Comments

Mario & Luigi fly out to investigate an odd letter sent by an old rival. Enemies appear in phases that are randomized.
If you're not fighting a boss, or not in level 5, loosing your balloons means that you must swim for some new ones. Starts off easy, but picks up after level 3.

The problems below vary by browser. The SWF file itself works fine, but the browser may cause some unintended behavior.

There are some issues with full-screen varying between browsers. It is best to check if it works first, rather than to check half-way and have to start all over.

Firefox also has a bug where right-clicking in game causes you to loose control of your character. Click outside the program, then back inside to be able to move again. Firefox is not recommended with mouse-mode.

Great! Really brings me back to the good old days, despite it being made anno 2018.
Very professionally made!

Nifty Game

A nifty game, you have here the "MARIO" theme is always a nice one and the "CONTROLS" are pretty nifty and a nice design on the mario themed characters and other baddies, some added flashy effects like on baloon pops and some water moments or stuff like that, This doesn't have much to make it unique, but it's a harmless game. I appreciate the fairly good amount of effort that you have put fourth on this because it does show and thats a big plus with me, and in the end it did bring its own kind of unique style to it all. You have Established a good start here.

Good up to Tatanga. I've tried everything when he used the boxing glove. It is impossible.

DannyMrt responds:

To beat the boxing glove move, you got to stomp on the glove when it fully extends. Stomping on the glove before it has extended fully will damage you. Try moving up before he points, then move down after.

Great game imma put it in a list to record for later !

Update made it to like level 3 with the cloud storms that shoot lighting and red bullet bills and got demolished quickly cause one of the red bullets kept going in a circle and when re spawning cant attack for a few seconds so they usually get to you first maybe a kill all killable when re spawned will help but the game is really great I can tell you put alot of work on it

DannyMrt responds:

Thank you!

Fun game, but there are some issues.

When I was fighting the first boss, he did his bomb throwing attack without the crosshair. He was stuck in that position and I had to restart. Before he did the attack I tried jumping on top of the little bomb, but I went through. (I'm using chrome, never went fullscreen)
In a lot of situations I would've liked it if the character was a bit smaller. This way it's possible to create more diverse enemy encounters.
The biggest issue I had with the game were the clouds. How was I supposed to know where they would attack? I lost a ton of lifes because of that part.

Other than that I enjoyed it. The bosses are great, trying to find their weaknesses in all those attacks was a lot of fun.
I also liked how the music changed when you go underwater. Apart from the short end game loop (it's playing while I'm writing this and driving me nuts) the music is great.
Seeing that final boss gave me a nice dose of nostalgia.

Keep up the good work!

DannyMrt responds:

When the clouds attack, pay close attention to where they look, that's where they'll strike.
For King Bob-omb, you can only stomp the bomb before he throws it once. You'll have to counter that move in another way. I think you may have found the second way to counter that move via bumping him. You'll have to bump him again while he's unsteady to damage him. That move also has a third way to counter it, but the fun is in finding out how, so I won't say it. Thank you for the feed-back.
