I'm excited to share my Late Night Work Club: Strangers film 'Departures.' I couldn't be more proud to be welcomed into the second edition of this independent anthology.

Thanks to Michal Fojcik for the amazing sound design. And thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.

Enjoy ❤️

Such a slow and suspenseful build-up, the suitcase left out in the open... was thinking that'd be the main element, but in the end I'm not sure if they even left or not. I'm not sure what really happened here. Love how abstract, yet consistent it is though, and it keeps you glued even when it's all in the details. Leaves me both enlightened and confused. All this from just the preparations of a trip; maybe all in the mind of the main character.

Even if painfully slow and rather meaningless, I still believe it's a good animation. It is original and the music just matches the tension building perfectly.

Keep it up!

I wanna see the baby now!

i know that you have to create tension, and the slow-mo animation did it well, but i really think you should have cut at least half a minute here and there, because certain passages go on for so long they become boring instead of... uncanny? (also, two and a half minutes is definetly too long a build up).
that said, the animation and the sound design work perfectly together with the feeling of the overall film. hope this will be somewhat useful, and hope to see more original projects like this
