Decent game here

So this was actually fun a bit hard to understand at first but was pretty good of a game, And I like the gameplay the movement of the ship was a tad hard but got easier as we progresed but overall good greaphics and fun gameplay so I was pretty pleased, I would suggest adding more medals though.

Adding more medals would be good.

Nice improvement over the first part. I like that ship's controls are more realistic, too bad there are no visible frontal thrusters for backwards movement, but at least the ship doesn't move sideways like in first part and turns to where it is heading properly.

The game is fun an beautiful. The story, while not really required is nice and meaningfully written, I enjoyed that.

As possible improvements I could think about upgrades visually changing appearance of the ship and maybe some boss waiting for hero's ship behind the barrier... maybe you can make some of that in Galactic Survivor 3, should you make it to my delight.

Appreciate the feedback MeGa-wise. It does means a lot that you've even compared it to my first game and realise the improvements between the two. Boy have I learnt a lot since making the first game.

You bet there will be a part 3! I'll take into account the recommendations for better visuals and bosses. But for my next game, I think I'll explore a new genre and other software outside of Stencyl.

Took some time to get a grip on the controls, from that point the game was pretty fun. The message that the game convays is the strongest point for me, it is very well written and true.

The nostalgia! :D This game reminds me so much of The Zone, which I played to death maybe a decade ago. Wonder if there's any inspiration there? The controls weren't quite as smooth, and catching the gems a bit of a challenge, but when you start upgrading and blowing everyone to bits a bit easier they're suddenly in good surplus and everything's just a ton of fun. Part of me wishes there was a finite amount of enemy ships so you could really blast them all and attain a conclusive victory, but the idea with the border, blasting away at the cornerstones while being bombarded by enemies... it's pretty neat. Great game.

Artisticated responds:

Thanks for the review Cyberdevil. I've never played The Zone before, but this game definitely draws some inspiration from old school games like Operation: Inner Space. Like you, I also played that game to death over 15 years ago.

Creating this game was a learning experience for me more than anything else (being the 2nd game I've ever created), but I definitely gained inspiration from these old school games that brought so much joy to me back in the day. Admittedly the controls and physics aren't as smooth, and really take some getting use to; hopefully I can nail it down in any future games.

Appreciate the feedback!
