Amazonian Pet

Share Collapse

A little independent school project that I did to look at the creative direction of animated music videos, this being my first take on it.

I've used 'Amazonian Pet' by Joji Miller for this project and wanted to re-interpret the ambiguous lyrics and craft a story that explores the themes of duality of personification, the archetype of the Shadow and just plain clowning around.

Amazonian pet and a dope clown, eh?

More of this art style, yes please <3

Can't tell if that final balloon catch was planned or not but... it ends with a positive message at least! I like the music, and the animation, and the Samurai Champloo-like vibe.. smooth, bright and melancholy at the same time. Nice work!

JogoCII responds:

Hmm. I intended it to be more of a surprise since I hinted something out of the blue at 0:14 that has balloons and pamphlets scrawled all over his home. Thanks again for your honest feedback!

I dig the style! Your color scheme, use of perspective, and framing are wonderful! My favorite scene is at 30 seconds. The ending is great too! :)

JogoCII responds:

Thank you for your feedback! Haha, that scene was pretty fun to animate. Especially with that Pepe reference. Thanks again!

I love this work !

JogoCII responds:

Thank you so much!

I'm surprised with how much I dug this. Art style was real nice, real nice indeed. Music selection was good but I wish it was a little longer, but what you gonna do? Keep it up!

JogoCII responds:

Thank you for your feedback. I do agree it is a little short, but I'm still planning to add a few more scenes(with more interaction) and maybe extending the ending a little bit.
Cheers.
