This is an idea for a comic that I worked on with a couple of pals a few years ago - and just found on my hard-drive and so I thought i'd share what we did. The idea is based on a similar premise to Atlas Shrugged or Bioshock but instead follows the adventures of the people left behind who form into violent clans/gangs based on their employment.
Apols for the weird 'next glitch loops' at the end. I don't have a version of Flash any more so cant remove that button!
Maybe I didn't understand your note about the ending glitch, but I thought it was genius that when I tried to get to the next panel and find out what happened next, I kept being told "It would only ever end one way....". I liked the art style and the format. I might have liked some kind of very minimalist sound accompanying it. I was fascinated by the premise and if this was the first few pages of the first I would have followed this story.
I did take exception to the idea that no one would try to grow crops again or repair anything. Did the "productive" members of society take all of the books with them? I know they didn't take the farmlands with them, much less the tools that they could just remake or replace in their utopia I'm assuming they left to create. Also, why would gangs form by profession and not by race or geography or something like that? The janitor gang would be on everyone's turf and the jewelers gang would be tiny and limited to the few areas they were associated with. Business in competition wouldn't naturally join forces either.
