This is based of the original Gameboy classic Tetris. However, it has been slightly changed and does not have that epic music. Next time you should try a new and original idea.

It has been almost ten years since I posted this on newgrounds and I would like to respond to some of the things I see written...
1: the reason it is called tetris 2 is because it was the 2nd attempt at any flash game I had made at the time.
2: "graphics look like game boy"
actually it was exactly the idea, at the time I had a game boy color with a device known as a shark mx, it was orignally designed as an email checking device, however I had found a way to run (what would now be called homebrew) games on it as I found out it actually supported an older verson of flash and actionscript, my plan was to load games on the device and have them availible on one cartridge, however I soon gave up on it and decided to post the game I made on newgrounds, hence the lack of background picture, sound and graphics.
3: I originally posed this to flashopensource as a kind of "backup" in 2000 when I was 14 and was pretty much unmodified when it was posted here in 2002 so considering its age (and mine at the time) I think it has done well.
at this time I would like to state that of all the other games I had uploaded this is the only one still here and I thank you all

i like the variation. never got past level ten yet but it's perfect for playing while watching videos in another window. particularly for the lack of sound fx.

Being a huge Tetris fan, it makes me upset when I see things like this. The playing field was unnessicarily small, the overall programming of the game wasn't done well, the pieces moved too slowly, and your little "challenges" or whatever, the randomly placed blocks that didn't let you get the pieces to the bottom? Yeah, bad idea. Sorry.
The games wasn't at all well made, and wasn't anything new. The graphics were really cheap an ugly and looked as if it were done for a gameboy. The style wasn't anything interesting.. It was just Tetris. Overall, this wasn't an attractive game.
