It was a clear and starry Halloween night, the perfect night for the citizens of an unsuspecting city to blow of some steam at the local skyline bar, THE BEYOND. It seemed like a ordinary night like any other but little did they know of the sinister plot happening right under their noses.

Neon Vortex, a Lovecraftian Inspired 80's horror animation
oh and it's also pixel art and looks like an old VHS tape .. did I miss anything? well if I did you'll find out shortly.

There's not many things is this world I like but, Synth music, pixel art and cosmic creatures are some of the few, so I thought I'd combine all these elements into one animation. hope you like it! and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Limitless imagination. I still watch your Tumor series. Very happy that you ventured to sci-fi grounds with Nebula Girl. Thank you for your work, it is mind altering to watch your animations.

This was great... But creepy as hell

Awesome animation

Clockworkpixel responds:

Thank you very much

Impressive! I found this animated short to be a stylishly hypnotic piece with vibrant pixel animation somewhat akin to "Another World", solid cinematography, unique character designs and an authentic soundtrack.

I also feel that the concept of a Lovecraftian horror set in a neon 80's bar of all places makes for an intriguing story regardless of length.

Clockworkpixel responds:

Thank you :)

Brilliant animation! There's been a lot of Lovecraft related stuff the last years, with different ambientations, but I think this is the first time I see an 80s mashup with the mythos, I that's a quite original idea, but most important, you executed it flawlessly. The visuals, the music, everything it's just right, you recreated a small portion of the 80s vibe in less than 4 minutes, and blend it with cosmic horror giving birth to Neon Vortex. Congratulations!

Clockworkpixel responds:

Thank you very much :) always thought Lovecraft and the 80's went together really well haha don't know why it just seems to work
