Finally, I have "finished" something for NATA! I say "finished" because this isn't exactly what I intended to be my entry. This cartoon was meant to be MUCH longer, like, 7 minutes. Of course the year I decide I'm finally gonna finish something for NATA the only thing I can manage to write is really long. Anyways, while working on the cartoon I realized I would not be able to finish the whole thing unless I got absolutely no sleep, even if the deadline was extended by a week, and uh yeah, I kinda didn't go through with the whole "no sleep" thing, except for a couple days. Instead of the longer cartoon, I decided to go with this alternate cut, which pretty much cuts out all the plot and has an alternate ending, but I think it still fits the theme and works well enough. And it's also nearly 2 minutes, so it's still a pretty decent feat to get that done in 3 weeks. So yeah, hopefully y'all enjoy this!

Making this cartoon was different for me. For once, I had human characters, which I don't really do much of (usually it's human shaped... and mostly frogs...) and the humans have ears, which is something I never used to draw, but now that I did it for this, it looks a lot nicer. The characters also have more complex designs than I usually do so it was more fun to animate the characters. I had a lot of fun making this, even though trying to get it done by the deadline was a pain. But yeah, if I make it to the next round of NATA, I'll be more prepared. Dialog seems like a bad thing to have in these cartoons, unless it's all quick and jokey. No dialog could probably make for more plot in less time. Plus a lot of my things are dialog driven, so it'd be a nice change of pace.
