This video does not deserve 1 star! These other reviewers are numbskulls!!!
Youtube is a globalist tool! Smaller buisnesses are the only true buisnesses!
First, let's just cover that NG caters more toward animation... That's not to say that movies like this are a bad idea, nor that it would or should be banned from the site. As pointed out, NG has been around longer than youtube, so it would be reasonable to look here for commentary, since it seems to be lacking on other sites...
The theme of detectives chasing down drug dealers is just about 'done to death' as storylines go. From there, you've gone further downhill with the stereotypical girl(s) in trouble, dancers at a strip club scene... blah blah... whatever.
The combat scene was just another tragedy in the line, since who-ever wrote that and orchestrated the scene, didn't know much about fighting or the weapons involved, and further they just didn't care to do the research to find out. The 'nightsticks' are based on a weapon known as tonfa, which were ninja devices of convenience in medieval Japan, basically mill-handles. The skills to use them as clubs and parrying implements are well enough documented as to not need repetition here. Needless to say, that should the so-called hero in this movie should know his arts enough to have properly cut the combat scene directly in half, since his three opponents lacked the know-how as much as the drive to accomplish their objective(s) as well.
It's not terrible, but you would do yourself a world of good to research and even learn about these things before spewing out much more. Might recommend, if nothing else, speaking and LISTENING to a regular policeman on the subjects of nightsticks/batons/tonfa... you might even consult an authority in the martial arts regarding tonfa, and their use.
I know, it's not something we like to see, but if you're going to put out the gore and violence, at least I would appreciate the effort to make something relatively and technically correct.
Other than a little too much time spent on irrellevant things rather than telling the story... it wasn't a total loss. Some of those irrellevant things are needed, just not quite so much if you want to do more than fill space. It's a tricky line to walk... And I hope you work toward getting better at it... Rome wasn't built in a day, and there isn't an award-winning film maker without a small mountain of 'crap' in his or her wake... relax, breathe, and move on.
Well ... i'm sorry but i don't think NG is a place for things like this. It's basically ok and i'm sure the creator(s) put in a lot of effort ... but compared to the other stuff uploaded here it's kind of odd. I guess you won't find the right audience here.
Sorry, but your movies are dull and uninteresting.
You also are not very observant. Newgrounds is a site for cartoons, animations, games, art, and generally drawn material. Real movies are generally not welcomed here.
Actually it was. Before youtube came out this very same site existed. People only upload animations now cause youtube is around. But honestly I prefer this site cause people actually comment
