That's a rather unusual way to present a story, and I will admit that I was a bit confused when the cop car arrives, those mixture of serious elements with typical gaming parts - strange and new to me. Also, the part in the middle (with the ambulance) was a little hard to watch.

However, I like the atmosphere you create, gritty and friendly at the same time. And music taste is always subjective, but I like the song. As I read in your comments, you did this to... how should I put it?... find a way to handle your emotions? I hope that worked for you.

When I consider that you only had 3 days for this vid, I've got to say this is astonishing well-made!

ArsenalStudios responds:

Thank you very much for your critique CrackerJack30 I appreciate it. I'm always trying new things. It's fun to experiment and see where things take you. I thought it might be a clever way to let out what was happening to me at the time and for some reason the song seemed to flow with what was happening as well. It tells a story and I think that's what I like about it. Hopefully it evokes some sort of emotional response but to each his own. Thanks again for your response. This was done over 3 years ago.

Interesting idea for an animation, in the form is a side-scroller. At first I thought the footage was actually fetched from a game (reading the description), but it is all custom right? The contrast between foreground silhouette and background color is nice, the music powerful, the change of weather probably the most impactful part of the animation, only thing that distracted me a little was how the cars didn't follow the contours of the landscape. Overall though, nice work!

ArsenalStudios responds:

Thank you, It is all original artwork but I took inspiration from Loco Roco and Patapon. I appreciate the response. thanks again for your critique. I appreciate it.

Nice animation I thought you did everything well.

ArsenalStudios responds:

Thank you. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. So you are always going to have people that don't like something and I have accepted that. Thanks again for the critique.

This music video is weird and slow which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

So is that someone he knew and they were found dead in their house? Am I close?

ArsenalStudios responds:

Yes you are correct. At the time my cousin walked in and found my uncle passed away on a chair. So I used my emotions and came up with this for the song. Thanks for the critique. I appreciate it.

I would've given this at least a 4 or 4.5, but there's a good number of flaws I've noticed.

First, the good -- The colors you used for this animation is well-selected; the blacks work well to contrast the high-intensity of the colors. And the minimalistic design on the characters is a nice choice for this look.

Okay, now the bad -- During the scene when the cops and the ambulance arrived at that woman's house, all your animation, and all the action happening is way too close to the bottom of the screen. There's so much negative space in that scene, I almost missed on what's happening.

Not to judge on the choice of music, but the fast pace of the music doesn't really match well to the slow-timing of the animation. (Okay, maybe I'm not the best guy interpreting the lyrics of the song) For example, when the guy's knocking on the door three times, he just walked back in a normal pace. That doesn't tell me well enough that he's worried of what's happening.

Again (if you'd rather keep that timing of the animation), it goes upon the staging, composition issues. May if you have some close-up shots of the characters, maybe that will enhance the mood of the song.

Not saying this video's bad, (I like it and all) but a lot of things can be improved.

ArsenalStudios responds:

Thanks VLanimate. It was done on limited time (3days) for a co-worker that created some background music for another animation I did. I dig the critique. thanks again.
