Puzzling.

I'm going to be a bit harsh, so I apologize in advance:

Paper puppet animation is one of the worst styles of animation out there, especially when you don't know how to movie it right. Everything is stiff despite being 'animated' and simply looks bad. Other than the poor animation, the symbolism also falls flat. It either relies on obscure simulacra or is pulled out of your ass; I can't tell which. The only thing you succeeded at was creating atmosphere through visual and sound design. If only you complimented this strength with good animation and storytelling.

Very reminiscent of cinema of the unsettling. You've successfully created somethign creepy, disturbing, and discomforting, so if that was your aim, bravo. However, I cannot say that I enjoyed watching this, and aside from the creepiness factor, I don't see much merit in this short.

Three stars for good sound mixing, and an infrequently used layered and textured animation style. Two star penalty because really, this flash is terrible.

At least it's not a parody or rehash of something, and it had an interesting visual style(I actually really like mixtures of different visual mediums and stop motion) Sadly, nobody will remember this in a few hours. I'm also glad it was only 2 minutes, as it just went nowhere and nothing really meant much to me. At no point during watching this did I get a sense that it was about social exclusion, begging or hate. Those three words just seem like words you came up with after the fact, just to give it some meaning where there was none. To be honest, it just leaves me confused and wondering why you'd make something like this. But that's why it's experimental...we all have our own interpretations.

Excellent art and interesting good work!
