A boy is sent into the forest and finds a beast, but he isn't like the legends...

I learned a lot from this little short. I started this back in August and I've learned so much since then. I made this movie out of order, which is why some scenes look better than others. I learned about color theory and improved my anatomy. My story structure still needs a ton of work. There's definitely some plotholes, but I had a lot of fun making it and learned a lot. Thanks for watching.

A venture of mystery and myth, through strange forests, over spiky mountains, into valleys inhabited by the creatures of endless laughter, harmoniously co-existing with the Earth. I like the sketchy style of animation, it almost seems to lend a tone of ambience to the journey, along with the atmospheric soundtrack. Voicing's great, story's creative; strange. Overall, was a fun animation; adventure!

Really imaginative. It's too long, though. I honestly think it could be improved just by quickening the frame rate. Obviously the lip-synced sections would have to stay the same, though.

This is awesome! Great backgrounds, lighting, story and animation. Looking forward to seeing more of your work

Hey Scott! Thanks for the kind words. Hope to see more of your stuff too. Have a good one man.

Raptor Jesus... Is that you?

All joking aside, decently done in my opinion. Once you polish up some it could be even better. Keep working on the voice over/lip syncing of the character and try to keep it a little more fluid. It seemed like you were skipping around on ideas when you made certain parts. Like how the Raptor attack just kinda ended without much substance.

SwedishPlumTrees responds:

Hey there. Thanks for the critique. Yeah I was jumping around to different spots when making this, trying to make it all fit together, which I now realize leaves some spots hanging with no context. Next time I'll try to make a more concise plan. Thank you.

Very Powerful! Can't wait to see your future stuff. Nice to hear that you are learning as a creator, surely looks like you had much fun with the animation, impressive display of timing. Who did the music? Did you? I really like the final piece. Congrats!
