Zado Takzen is an elite clairavoyant who has spent his life, as well as all other psychics (called psyza), as a slave to the Amalgian empire. In the last decade, they have been liberated by the support of the Ishytaran kingdom, under rule of Reynald Falkner. Zado believes that in order to be truly free of persecution and reign, one must eliminate the rule above it, or so he preaches to his cult followers, the Apex. He lead and failed an attack on the kingdom of ishytara, thwarted by a sleeper agent, Aegis Omoro. Now imprisoned, he faces judgment and trial.
