I always enjoy retro-style games, but this one still lacks some creativity, even if the old-school gfx and sound are well done. Well, I guess that a 48h competition isn't an easy thing to do.
Goodness gracious! The oh-so-nefarious GitBot has snatched Mr. Ray's wondrous machine! He NEEDED that machine!
This game is from a few years back. Posting it here for posterity.
Created for the first ever FlashPunk competition/jam (48h), and my tribute to / ripoff of one of the greats.

There is definitely a challenge here with the slow moving graphics and knowing just when to jump. It reminds me of the old electronic games you would find in the arcade game rooms many years ago (I'm not saying how many :D), especially the "you died, game over" music.
I'm giving you a 4 because of graphics, though I know it can't be helped. Good job.
I like the old feel of the game, but the slow moving is a problem a increase in overall speed would make it much more enjoyable.
Kind of a rip off game, but i guess it's supposed to be that way. It's overall a pretty decent game, but i think it goes a bit slow playing it though. Good job i guess.
It's pretty minimal, but I did try to make that which is there enjoyable. "Good I guess" is a nice way of saying it.
I'm happy to get a "pretty decent" on a 48-hr game. Glad you somewhat liked it :)
Well, the game isn't too bad. The graphics fit the theme quite well and it's as challenging as the first level of the original Donkey Kong. :)
I think what I like best about how it came out is that it feels reminiscent of that level (though clearly simplified). Hope you liked the challenge.
