Well remember that in the Zelda world they have cuccos, not chickens. So maybe a cock in that world looks different from what we think of as a rooster. Maybe they call a male cucco a cock.
If you saw my last animation, this is where the irony part of the joke comes in.
Anyways, this was fun to make. I was playing a Link to the Past and came across something that caught me off guard, and like every other parody I've made, this is my honest reaction to the situation, with some slight exaggeration ;3
This was supposed to come out last month but I've been really lazy lately, but I seem to be over it now because for the past week I've been working nearly 12 hours every day on this trying to get it done, and I'm proud of how it came out. Hopefully all my hard work paid off and you all enjoy it!
Feedback is appreciated!
Explanation/Spoilers:
So I was playing A Link to the Past and I decided to mess around with this one easteregg that I have known about for the longest time where in one of the houses in Kakariko, a chicken is in a pot, and if you sprinkle some magic powder on the chicken, it will transform into the girl that is patrolling outside. For whatever reason, when I read the text, the term "weathercock" really stood out to me and I wondered, well why is it called that? I always just thought it was a bird statue... okay, so it's a weathervane, but it still doesn't look like a rooster, so why "weathercock"? And then I thought, well maybe if I look at it another way, it's a penis. And there you have it.

Maybe. I guess we don't ever really see any roosters in the Zelda universe except for on the weathercock's from 2 games, unless I'm forgetting something (which is very likely). Yay for theories! ;3
I really want this Flash animation a lot. It is very funny, there are a few of my favorite jokes in there, like a weather vane and a cock in it. You, you put a lot of time and effort to produce, it is not you. I hope one day it is. The background is really good, the animation is amazing, I think this is my idea of a really great animation. Please continue to do animation. Thank you for reading this review.
Hmm maybe because the weathercock was suppost to resemble a weathervain, but turned out to be a real bird, That wasn't a chicken or cock what so ever wtf? How confusing can this game get, funny fact that link turns into a cute fuzzy bunny, that is worth not grabbing the pearl early to prevent this transformation. And a mirror can take you to the light world or dark world, I'm so glad that nintendo changed that up in a link between worlds.
Yeah, apparently it's supposed to be a weathervane, but it really doesn't look like one. Aren't weathervanes supposed to move with the direction of the wind or something? This one looks like it's made of stone, so it doesn't seem very effective, heh. That's another reason why I always just thought it was some bird statue, plus when you play the flute for it a bird comes out, not a chicken, so why it's called the "weathercock" is still a mystery to me :p
So they changed the mirror thing in a link between worlds eh? I wouldn't know 'cause I haven't played that one yet, I want to though.
Thanks for the review!
I think I played some Zelda game some time long ago, but didn't get very far, and as that's all experience I have with the series I suppose most of these references are lost on me, like... the ending. :P Also the statue, most important part of the animation. I recognize the top-down view though, and the pots lmao, the style's just how I remember it. To offer at least one useful tidbit of feedback: how about a larger play button? A custom one right below the title? There seems to be plenty of space for it, but instead it's hidden away waay at the side below the API ad! Keep it going!
-cd-
Yeah, this is based on an easteregg that's in a single zelda game, so it's understandable why people wouldn't get it, but if anyone actually wanted an explanation, they can always just read the description. It's a wall of text for a reason :/
But yeah, I agree about the tiny play button. I'm not sure how Newgrounds feels about modifying parts of their api, but that thing is tiny so I'll see what I can do. I've been trying to get some sort of uniform preloader layout that works well.
Thanks for an actual review! :p
i really dont know what to say
Was there really point in saying anything then? I don't know, maybe fucking say why you gave 1 star, ya know? Actually go into detail about what you liked and didn't like about this. Explain how I can fix whatever mistakes were made, so that I can one day improve? Ya know, leave a fucking REVIEW?!
