Alright, thought time.
First, the sprite, it needs movement, it's much too rigid and if it was small and looked more round, it would come off as cute. It comes across as creepy at the moment, but I know that this isn't complete.
Music is something that would really set this up, be it through sound effects or through a nice loop. But often times people just slap in a loop music that doesn't match the feel of the game. If you want a scary game, add slow music, if you want a runner platformer where you just run as fast as you can through it, use really quick paced music.
Background is another thing, depending on what you're trying to achieve, you NEED to consider what would suit for the background. The platforms could be castle like and the wallpaper could have it as well. If it's a scary game, it should be dim for use of tension. Do you get what I mean?
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if this is not a running platformer, USE A STORYLINE. It is the most important, because a storyline drives people to enjoy a platformer. If you do not have any goal that is stated through storyline, or through some form of achievement system, people tend to not want to come back to it, and it makes for a very boring game.
Also, enemies or obstacles. One or both should be used in this sort of thing, I understand you have "lava" in the game already, you obviously just need more. I look forward to how this develops.
The point system is not needed unless there is medals for it, or a shop in which you spend points, but at the moment, it looks like the generic platformer that is always done.
